Jacob Turnage: From Baiting Fish Hooks to Attracting High End Clients

You might say that Jacob Turnage was born to entertain.  Little did Jacob Turnage know when he was baiting fish hooks for his father’s business associates, that one day he would be working with senior management from the nation’s premier companies to plan personalized events for their clients.

A native of southern Louisiana, Jacob Turnage is the son of a tugboat operator. Part of Jacob Turnage’s job at the family business was to tag along on fishing trips.  On these trips he helped the executives his father entertained with the dirty work of baiting fish hooks.  Jacob Turnage learned many early lessons on these trips and quickly grew into the role of young entrepreneur.

Jacob Turnage’s first business was a small one.  At summer camp before entering the 4th grade, Jacob Turnage started his first business by auctioning off the contents of his Grandmother’s care package to the highest bidders.  From here it was only a short jump to restoring his father’s baseball card collection and becoming one of the top baseball card traders in Louisiana.

A graduate of Loyola University New Orleans, with a degree in Marketing and Management, Jacob Turnage cut his teeth in the internet start up craze of the 90s. Unfortunately, the bubble burst shortly thereafter.  This did not deter Jacob Turnage.  He took the opportunity to combine two of his lifelong passions, travel and sports, into a new company, EB Corporate.
