Be the Master of your Own Masters Package

The Masters Tournament is a 72-hole tournament held over four days running the first full week of April is the first of the major four golf tournaments to be played each year.  The Augusta National Golf Club host the U.S. Masters annually located in the city of Augusta Georgia.  Clifford Roberts and Bobby Jones the great amateur golfer were the originators of the U.S. Masters.  Architect Alister MacKenzie designed the Augusta National golf course.

Trevor Immelman won the 2008 Masters taking home a prize of $1.36 million dollars.  However, that was not all he brought home or any other winner for that matter.  The traditional Green Jacket means almost as much to the winner as the money does.  With it comes the prestige of being singled out to keep the jacket with you for the first year after their first victory.  After that, it is returned to the club made available for the winner to wear during their visit every time.  This tradition started back in 1949.  Part of the prestigious Green Jacket affair is the previous year winner of the Masters places the jacket on the presiding winner.  When Jack Nicklaus consecutively won the Masters in 1966 and personally placed the Green Jacket on him.  When Woods and Faldo reigned as repeated champions, the Green Jacket was placed on them by the Chairman of Augusta National.

Additionally, Master winners receive a gold medal and have their name engraved on the Masters Silver Trophy with a replica of the original trophy presented to the winner as well.  With winning the Masters’ brings privilege such as being invited to play in the other three major golf tournaments for the following five years, a lifetime invitation to the Masters, membership on the PGA and invitations to the Players Championship for five years following their win.  Finally yet importantly, the champion gets to be the honored guest at a champion dinner.  The defending champion selects the menu for the reigning champion and only past winners of the Masters are invited to attend with the exception of a few honorary members.

Although tickets to the Masters are fairly inexpensive, they are hard to get.  This is definitely a situation where the saying the early bird gets the worm because in order to secure a ticket to the Masters you have to plan extremely early.  This is where utilizing Master Packages can benefit one trying to secure tickets for a corporate event.  O if you want to catch pro golfers such as Jack Nicklaus, Tiger Woods, Zach Johnson or 2008’s reigning champion Trevor Immelman plan early in securing your 2009 Masters package. †
